Most modern psychology relates to human behavior as if a person were a computer. These early inputs, or programs, run virtually unaided for the duration of the life of the individual. Lilley, one of the pioneers of behavioral programming said:

Unfortunately, some of the programs I got as a small person didn't work very well once I grew into adulthood. They were particularly hard to see, unless I was able to gain perspective. Sometimes that meant a friend or loved one told me. Sometimes it meant I had to shift my point of view.
