Living in Joy I have a good friend who is a hierophant. What that actually might have been in olden days has been lost to the sands of time, but if I were to define it in modern terms, I would say that a hierophant is a scientist of the spirit. This friend, as hierophant, employs complex ritual, energy work, and subtle astrological influences to produce particular outcomes. He is a man steeped in arcane lore and has read most of the major treatises of science and philosophy in their original languages . No small feat. This guy knows what he's talking about. One day we were musing over the larger questions that baffle and mystify mankind, and I asked him what he thought the key was to living a life filled with joy. Without hesitation he replied "Gratitude". Of course I asked why. He explained that in all of the philosophies and rituals he had employed or been a part of, that every one of them concludes with a sense of gratitude and an expression of that gratitude. In other words, if you pray for something and God or the forces of the universe move to manifest it for you, the second half of the ritual must take place for you to retain and utilize it. That second half is gratitude and a "giving back" "It's like math" he says, "The second half of the equation must be present for it to make any sense or to have any practical application. That cycle of asking for what you need, receiving it, experiencing gratitude, and giving back is the equation for living in joy." This piece was designed to facilitate the wearer to receive all that they need, while also enhancing their sense of gratitude. It will help draw in life's blessings and help them to appreciate all they get. In this way, the wearer can live life immersed in joy. |
